GATE Daily, at gatedaily.in, is run anonymously. This page says what the site keeps about you and what it does not. For anything to do with your data, including a complaint, write to hello@gatedaily.in.
Without signing in
Your answers, times, scores and streak stay in your browser's local storage, as does a record of how you work through each set. While you are signed out, none of it is sent to us. If you later sign in, the sets you have already submitted in this browser are saved to your account too. The site sets no cookies, shows no ads and has no ad trackers.
How you work through a set
As you solve a set on the site, your browser records:
- when you opened each question, and each change of answer;
- the questions you marked for review;
- when you switched away from the page and back;
- whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, judged from the screen's width and whether it works by touch;
- after you submit, which solutions you opened, for how long, and when you pressed Ask ChatGPT.
When you are signed in, we store this with the set. We use it to improve the questions, and may later use it to show you patterns in how you solve.
Hosting and analytics
Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any host, it handles request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views; it sets no cookies and does not identify you.
Signing in
Signing in is optional, and everyone signs in with Google. Google gives us your name, email address, a link to your profile picture and your Google account ID. We ask for nothing else: the openid, email and profile scopes only. Google also returns sign-in tokens; we don't keep them, and we never reach into your Google account.
The one exception is a single review account, which reviewers of AI app directories use to test GATE Daily in an assistant. It signs in with an email address and a password that we give those reviewers; the site's database stores only a hash of the password. Nobody else can create a password login.
What we keep when you are signed in
- Your account: name, email, picture link and Google ID.
- Your sign-in sessions: a random session token, when it expires, and the IP address and browser that signed in.
- Every set you submit: your answers, the time on each question, your score and when you submitted, and for a set solved on the site, how you worked through it.
- AI assistants you connect: which ones, what you allowed them to do, and the tokens they use.
This is what keeps you signed in, and keeps your sets, streak and stats the same on every device you use.
Connecting an AI assistant
You can connect an AI assistant, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to GATE Daily. Before you are asked, the assistant registers itself with us; we keep the name and return address it gives. If you sign in and allow it, we keep that you allowed it and the tokens it uses: one that lasts an hour and one that renews it for up to 60 days. With them the assistant can read your streak, scores and answers, open the day’s subject sets, and save the sets you submit through it. What it does with that is up to its maker’s privacy policy. Deleting your account ends every connection.
Without signing in, an assistant can fetch the daily sets and past questions like any visitor, and nothing it sends is saved.
Cookies
Only when you sign in. One cookie lasts only for the Google sign-in step: it is set when sign-in starts and expires within ten minutes, even if you cancel at Google. Once you are signed in, one cookie keeps you signed in for up to 60 days and is renewed as you use the site, and one caches your session for five minutes. All three are for sign-in; none are for advertising or tracking.
Who else sees it
We do not sell or share personal data. It is processed only by Cloudflare, which hosts the site and runs the database in the Asia-Pacific region, and by Google, which handles sign-in. An AI assistant you connect yourself receives what you allowed it, as above.
There are no leaderboards yet. If they are added, you will appear on one only if you choose to.
Keeping and deleting
Your data is kept until you delete your account. Signing out removes your saved sets from that browser. “Delete account”, on your account page, permanently deletes your account, sessions, saved sets and assistant connections at once. Database backups may hold them for up to 30 days more.
Your rights
Email hello@gatedaily.in for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. Or delete it yourself, as above.
Age
The site is not aimed at anyone under 18. If you are under 18, use it without signing in.
